Under the European climate law, Belgium is required to provide projections of its greenhouse gas emissions up to 2050.
In July 2023, Belgium submitted projections under Article 18(1)(b) of the Governance Regulation for 2030 only. These are available on the official website for submissions to the Commission: Reportnet, and have undergone a quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) process by the European Environment Agency.
Since then, new projections to 2050 have become available, but it has not been possible to submit them to Reportnet, as the annual QA/QC process has come to an end. Nevertheless, in order to disseminate these projections, they are now available on this page.
